Public Service Announcement...Wash Your Hands

Writer's picture: NightMareNightMare

This is a friendly reminder to wash your hands, regularly, particularly after using the bathroom. We are 6 months into a piss poor response to a global pandemic and the #1 most effective way to curb the spread of germs is to...

WASH YOUR HANDS!

(continued below...)

Today, I share a short pre-coronavirus story about the importance of washing your hands.

Once upon a time, I was on a date, at a bar. Not early in the evening, but not late, cocktails were full and the dance floor was beckoning.

Excusing myself to use the ladies', I stand in line, patiently waiting for my turn at hovering over the not so sparkling bowl when the following appeared before my very eyes.

A woman, tall, thin, long brown hair, porcelain skin, deep brown eyes, and impeccable makeup comes sashaying out of the stall. Not yet my turn, she stands between me and the mirror taking herself in, fluffs her hair, wipes her hands on her pants, and joins her friend, laughing on the way out of the door.

I go about my business, using the soap and water to thoroughly wash my hands, grabbing a paper towel to dry my hands and another to get the door.

Walking back towards where I think I left my date sitting, I see the same tall, long brown hair, unwashed hands woman with her arms draped around...my date.

What. The. F***.

Remember, kids, wash your hands.

If you can't remember the last time you washed your hands, WASH YOUR HANDS!!!

Germs and personal hygiene are NOT political.
