Rise and Shine Leg Warmers

Knit in the round with bulky yarn, these leg warmers knit up quick and make either a wonderful self-hug or gift for your favorite ballerina, yogini, dancer, or fellow knit wit. These sumptuous leg warmers give love to long muscles and vital joints on cold, dark winter mornings. Perfect for barre, morning sun salutations, or anytime extra warmth is needed. Easy pattern to memorize and beginner-friendly.

Supplies for project
2 balls/skeins Buttercream Luxe Craft Alpaca Solids yarn
Size 15 circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge
Tapestry needle
Scissors
*Gauge: 10 stitches x 12 rows in stockinette= 4” x 4”
*As shown measures approximately 21 ½” long by 5 ½” wide and stretches about 1 ½-2”.
*To increase circumference, increase CO in multiples of 6, this will add another cable column. (XS/S 28, S/M 34, M/L 40, L/XL 46)
Pattern Directions
Abbreviations: k = knit
p = purl
* = repeat pattern between asterisks (*)
Cast On 28 stitches or number depending on size.
Rows 1-9: 1 x 1 rib stitch (k1, p1, repeat until end of round)
Row 10: k1, p1, *Cable 4 front (slip 2 stitches to a cable holder or another knitting needle. Place in front. K 2. K 2 stitches from cable holder/knitting needle), k1p1* repeat until last 2 stitches, k1,p1
Row 11-13: k1, p1, *k5,p1* repeat until last 2 stitches, k1, p1.
Row 14: repeat Row 10
Repeat Rows 11-14 as many times to reach desired length. Shown with 14 repeats.
After reaching desired length, finish with 9 rows of 1 x 1 rib stitch (k1, p1, repeat to end).
Bind-off on row 9 in rib stitch.
Repeat pattern for second leg warmer, except cable in back for all rows that call for cabling.
Weave in ends.
